Theater SCHOOL with dmitri peskov
1. PHYSICAL PREPARATION
This class is based on the assumption that high level of theatrical play puts the body in a state of higher awareness. Thus, it is necessary to train train the body and the mind in order to achieve an extra-daily, heightened state of tone that can be adjusted in large or small increments to the demands of the work. This will be accomplished through a variety of modalities that will include elements of Williamson Physical Technique for Actors, Fitzmaurice Voicework, Lecoq based exercises and somatics.
2. ACTING TECHNIQUE will use a wide range of methodologies that will help the actors to live in the imaginary world while remaining effortless, spontaneous and responsive to others. This will be accomplished through Meisner-based repetition exercises, method-based techniques, clown work, scene work, sensory work, script work and on camera work. Behind the seriousness of approach to acting is the presupposition that to act is to play. We invite our students and potential ensemble actors to harness thier inner-madness towards inspired, full and free-from-inhibition performance.
